This latest biography on David Bowie is definitely thorough and in-depth. I’ve not read other books on the man, so I can’t compare them, but I can say that this one goes quite deep. In fact, I’d have to say that at times the detail seems a little tedious. Part of that, though, is that Spitz’ writing style really doesn’t work for me. He seems overly verbose a lot of the time. Now, all that said, the man gets great reviews, so many people like his writing style. I am not fond of Stephen King’s style for the same reasons – and people are insanely into him. So, it’s all a matter of personal taste.
