NeverawakE EP

This is another Northwest band to which I’ve recently been exposed, and what a treat they are. This is a very progressive rock outfit with chops of steel, and a whole life ahead of them. That life should be full of promise and dreams to fulfill, and they're bound for glory according to my ears. They keep an old school balance with prog influences such as Led Zeppein and Porcupine Tree, but manage a completely different style all their own in the process. This debut EP is as good as anything out there.

Track by Track Review
The Way Up
This is all the way epic, a massively exhausting track with everything there is to offer from this band. There are many influences felt here in order to capture their originality, and hints of everyone from Dream Theater to Toll are just a couple worth noting. They're simply amazing once you take this all in.
The Coldest Words
The energy goes up quite a bit from the get go on this even more progressive track. They have this sort of Led Zeppelin attitude but it's not an old sound, so the old school approach is even more welcome. This is simply over the top with undeniable hooks that won't quit.
What You Are
Now we're really talking, as they go sonically into another place altogether on this one. Melodic changes and bursts of bombast galore that take them to an even more progressive level. This is another absolutely outstanding track to say the least. They sound like they've somehow been around for a couple of decades at this point on the disc.
When It Rains It Pours
This is a frantic piece of work and one of the most energetic on display. This has to be one of the most satisfying numbers to my ears. I can listen to this continuously for days.
The Lies And The Lambs
A fine closer this is, with a mellower vibe than the rest of the tracks on offer. Still, make no mistake, NeverawakE definitely aren't asleep. The guitar work in particular is extremely exceptional. Add to that the songwriting prowess this band provides amd a big sound that competes with anyone out there today, or yesterday and you’ll see this is a band to catch.
