It Can Happen (Single) Vinyl

Lately we’ve been moving away from our long-held rule that in order to reviewed an item had to be in print. I mean, you can find just about anything (and generally pretty affordably) on Amazon.com or eBay. So, why not review this stuff? This single featured a live version of the A Side as the B. I don’t think this live version has shown up anywhere else (but I could be wrong). That makes this worth having for real collectors. Since I reviewed the A side previously on the album review, I’ve adapted this song review from that article for the sake of consistency.

Side A
It Can Happen
One of the stronger cuts on the 90125 disc, this one seems to do a decent job of merging prog sensibilities with the Rabin pop-rock stylings. This actually feels quite a bit like later era Pink Floyd at times.
Side B
It Can Happen (Live Version)
I like this live version quite a bit. It does a great job of capturing the live sound. There are some different keyboard layers and other sounds, too. There is also some seriously soaring guitar work on this. There are some different vocalizations later in the cut, too. I’d have to say that this live version might actually be better than the studio version.
