Aubergine MACHINE

Sundown (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

We’ve been reviewing a steady stream of singles from this outfit. Each of them is quite good. I think of the set so far, this is probably the weakest one. Given the strength of it, though, that says a lot about how great the others are.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2014  Volume 6 at

Track by Track Review

I like this. It’s a bit overprocessed in terms of the vocals, but the whole high energy electronic music vibe works really well. This piece really gets quite powerful as it works forward. It’s catchy and fun.

(Editor's Note - Music Street Journal is set up for the allocation of albums, not singles - particularly not one-song singles. So, in the instances, like this one, where we've covered single song releases, we've had to make some adaptations for formatting. In the case of this one, just imagine both track review and overall review reading as one set of copy. )
