This instrumental album is a strictly guitar duet kind of thing. It’s probably not progressive rock, but with California Guitar Trio’s Bert Lams filling as one half of the duo, it is a good place to put the set. This is fairly mellow and runs between classical, world music and more. I like this set a lot.

Track by Track Review
Hindu Melody
There are some beautiful melodies built into this gentle composition.
Prayer of Gratitude Much gentler and more classical in nature, this is no less pretty.
Armenian Song Classical music and world music merge on this piece.
Long Ago in Mikhailov This is intricate and a lot more energized. The old world sounds really shine on this number.
Meditation
Gentle, intricate and pretty, this isn’t as mellow as the title might lead you to think it would be.
Movement 9 There is a driving, nearly classical, aspect to this piece. The guitar soloing seems to alternately climb and weave tapestries.
Carpet Weaving Delicate and intricate world music is heard on this number. In some ways it reminds me a bit of Genesis.
Kurd Melody Somehow I can hear some Genesis in this. It’s really quite magical in a lot of ways.
For Mr. Gurdjieff's Wife Another song that’s a bit gentler, this is pretty.
Sayyid Dance There are some great melodies on this cut. It’s a little on the slow side, but that isn’t a bad thing.
Song of the Fisherwomen Energetic and rather catchy, I like this one a lot.
Mazurka There is some real magic in the melodies here. It’s another with a real flowing energy.
Movement 13 With a classical kind of styling, this is mellower, intricate and pretty.
Orthodox Hymn for a Midnight Service Folk and world music combine here. For my money, this one might just overstay its welcome a little.
Mamasha I love the playful world music sounds of this piece. In fact, it’s one of my favorites here.
Allegretto A more textural piece in some ways, this reminds me more the kind of music Lams does in California Guitar Trio than anything else here does.
Sayyid Chant and Dance Nr 29 This is one of the most complex pieces on show here. It’s very classical, yet the folk and world music elements are largely at play here. There are segments that rise closer to rock music than just about anything else here, too.
