Rachel and the Ruckus

Water and Oil (Single)

Review by Gary Hill

This outfit hails from Denver, Colorado. Listening to them you might expect they would live some place further south. This single showcases a hard rocking sound with a southern flavor.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2017  Volume 5 at  garyhillauthor.com/Music-Street-Journal-2017.

Track by Track Review
Water and Oil

Drums lead things out here. They launch into a rocking country sound that's perhaps more southern rock than country. As the vocals join, it becomes full on country music. Those vocals are so potent and effective. This is a killer cut with some great hooks and solid delivery. The slide guitar and saxophone solos really bring something special to this.
