Tom Killner Live Review by Gary Hill Classic rock and blues are the order of business here. These guys do such a great job of revisiting this music. They cover folks from actual blues artists to Jimi Hendrix, The Band, The Allman Brothers and even Stevie Wonder. Everything is delivered with passion and fire. This is such a great release. Track by Track Review

Like It This Way After an opening introduction the band powers out to this cool blues meets rock and roll stomper. The guitar soloing on this is screaming hot. The whole tune is packed with energy and cool.

King Bee A Muddy Waters tune, these guys deliver this with fire and passion. It's a bit like Led Zeppelin mixed with George Thorogood in some ways.

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked This is no frills, but is has a nice balance between powered up and dropped back sections. This is another smoking hot blues rocker that works really well.

Have You Ever Loved a Woman Piano leads this out here. It turns out to a fairly traditional electric blues jam that calls to mind B.B. King. The guitar soloing on this is particularly exceptional. Given the competition, that says a lot.

Higher Ground Funk shows up in this powerhouse number. I've always liked this cut. You can make out some hints of the Stevie Wonder original, but overall they turn this out into another smoking hot rocker. There is an audience sing-along built into this, too.

Cocaine Blues A mellower, more old-school styled blues tune, this is great. It's also a solid bit of variety.

Crosstown Traffic Here we get a killer live rendition of Hendrix classic. This is just so tasty.

Soulshine This isn't a huge surprise, but rather another killer blues rocker.

Whipping Post They turn in a killer rendition of this Allman Brothers classic. It's purely inspired.

The Weight This cover of The Band seems fairly faithful, too. That really shows the range of this band. I love this cut as performed here. It's just so classy.

Foxy Lady We're back into Jimi Hendrix territory here. Again we're treated to some seriously fiery music here. This is a killer. The cut serves as opportunity to introduce the musicians and give them a chance to shine.

With a Little Help from My Friends This old chestnut gets a killer rendition, too. You just can't beat this band covering these things. They just nail each and every one of them.
