Kirrah Amosa Undefeated (digital single) Review by Gary Hill I have to say at the start of this review that in general I'm not a big fan of the over-produced pop music of today. I'm even less taken with processed vocals that seem so prevalent in this style of music. All that said, at least in terms of one tune, the heavy-handed production on this works well, lending a sort of artsy electronic vibe. The vocals aren't all that processed on this except in some points that seem to be used for effect. That makes the processing a bit of a "non-issue." Undefeated A cool electronic vibe opens this. The processed vocal on the introduction lends some intriguing texture, making this feel almost like an electronic artsy thing akin to Laurie Anderson. As the main vocals join the cut takes on more of an R&B pop vibe. Still, this has more artsy elements than that. I wouldn't enjoy a whole album of stuff this heavily processed and synthetic, but for a single it works well. It lends a creative artsy angle to a pop style.
