Alias Wayne Faux Pas Review by Gary Hill This is a solo project by Ranzel X Kendrick. The music here has a nice range of sound. There is classic rock, alternative pop, roots music, jazz and more on display. The opening mash up of two classic sounds is worth the price of admission all by itself. This is great stuff. Track by Track Review

Gimmie What It's Worth The guitar that opens this has a cool retro groove. As the song kicks in, it's obvious that this is an odd reworking, mash up of The Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" and Buffalo Springfield's "For What It's Worth." The two tunes merge quite well, and I love the arrangement and performance of the piece. This is very cool stuff. The harmonica is a nice touch.

Broke Down In Texas This energetic cut has some blues, country and folk in the mix. It's a mainstream rock tune that works quite well.

Nobody But Me Alternative pop, singer-songwriter styles and roots music all merge here. This has a healthy helping of jazz, too. This is a fun little number that is quite effective. The horn playing brings a lot to it.

Caveman Jack Another bouncy kind of romp, this tune is entertaining, but not one of my favorites.

Just Because Percussion starts this tune. The cut works out there is a cool, roots-music informed rock sound. This has a tasty singer-songwriter vibe to it. It's one of my favorite cuts of the set. That makes it a great choice for set closer. It has some tasty blues elements and a somewhat spoken vocal delivery.
