I have landed this under “progressive rock,’ but it is not actually progressive rock. It is very much art rock, though. Mind you, I could see someone arguing that it fits under pure pop music, too. Clearly that angle is represented. Overall, though, I’m happy and content to classify this as art rock.

Track by Track Review
Hiding from the Rain Piano with some sound effects in the backdrop opens this number. The vocals come in over the top. As this continues to evolve it seems to combine a pop vibe with an art rock edge. Acoustic guitar rises up further down the road to augment the arrangement. I love the sound of the strings. The trendy backing vocal bits are not as effective for me, though. Still, this is cool stuff. The piano and sound effects take over at the close to provide a bookend effect.
