Dr. Space

Lost in the Space Time Continuum

Review by Gary Hill

Dr. Space is a busy guy. In addition to his main act Øresund Space Collective, he seems to appear and work on all kinds of other projects. Yet he finds time to do solo works like this one. This keyboard based disc calls to mind acts like Tangerine Dream and Synergy, while also creating its own brand of electronic space music.

This review is available in book (paperback and hardcover) form in Music Street Journal: 2021  Volume 5. More information and purchase links can be found at:

Track by Track Review
Galaxy 294846
There is a rather computerized kind of vibe to this piece of electronic music. It's definitely got plenty of space music to it, too.
Lost in the Space Time Continuum
There are lush layers of strange (but tasty) keyboard textures built into this number. It's pretty intriguing and unusual stuff.
Noisy bursts of keys create a honking sort of space groove. There is almost a hypnotic quality to this.
Song for Walter
There is a great energy and groove to this piece, too. It has plenty of tasty space built into it. There are some parts that feel like synthetic voices. The piece really grows out from there with a lot of style.
Rah Jah
Chiming tuned percussion sound brings this cut into existence. Spacey textures rise up to join from there. A sound like a shouted voice is heard at one point. The whole track is reinvented as a fast-paced Synergy like groove as it continues.
Shane's Aura
This makes me think of Tangerine Dream in a lot of ways. This is classy electronic music.
Heavy, dark and freaky, the synth sounds on this are quite powerful.
