Review by Gary Hill

The modern R&B sounds on here are effective. The best part of this set would be the vocals. I'd have to say that this probably works best in small doses. In other words for people who only listen to a song or two from an artist at a time, I think everything here will probably shine. As a straight spin from start to finish, though, it tends to feel a little samey and lackluster at points.

Track by Track Review
Fiya
The opening on this brings some serious hip hop to the table. As it drops into the song-proper, though, this has a modern R&B groove. This is classy stuff.
I Like It
More of that R&B concept is in the driver's seat here. This has a little more of a slow-burn element at play. I think this is a step up from the opener.
Sugar Daddy
I like the energy and feel of this tune. It's another classy modern R&B cut. This one has a bit an EDM leaning to it.
Glow
R&B merges with a pop music groove on this mid-tempo piece. This is effective, but not really standout for me.
Complicated

A slower moving number, this has its charms, but doesn't really stand out from the rest here. I'd consider it an "also ran."

Hot n Heavy
More energized, this has a lot of fun and style to it. It's got some definite electronic music angles, but overall is all R&B and pop. It's a good choice for closer to the set as it is one of the stronger pieces here.
