While we’ve seen many shows at the House of Blues in Chicago, we’ve never seen the place as packed as it was for Guns and Roses. There were people of all genres present for this show. Tickets were over $100 for admission and GnR went on about an hour late. The crowd was pumped by the time they took the stage at a little past eleven PM.

From the back of the room you would not have know Slash wasn’t up there as they had someone dressed like him. They played favorites such as “Welcome to the Jungle” and “Civil War.” In fact, they played around 30 songs over the course of roughly three hours.

This was one of the loudest crowd sing-alongs of any show we’ve attended. It looks like Axl Rose has the act all pulled together and people are still loving this music.We heard concert goers saying to each other where they first heard a GnR song or that was the first song they danced to with a significant other.  The songs are not only a part of history but they are a part of people’s history and their memories of a different time. It’s definitely a step up for Axl and company and Slash was not much missed on this night.
