Clutch

Live in Madison, Wisconsin, April 2012

Review by Mike Heitzman

This was one hell of show… to say the least. Even over two weeks after the show (face red) as I type this, the excitement still flows through my veins. This was originally scheduled at the Orpheum Theatre in Madison, but for some reason it ended up at the Barrymore, and we were sure glad for it. The Spotted Cow beer was flowing and the atmosphere was very comfortable and the acoustics perfect. This is a very old theater, but very well maintained and the staff is very laid back and friendly. It just made for a perfect event.

There were some serious Clutch fans there that night. You could hear people in the crowd singing through every song. Every time a cut came on you could just hear the instant recognition from the crowd.

Front man Neil Fallon really held the crowd’s attention and ripped out every song without a hitch. You can really tell Clutch are seasoned professionals, as they played a lot of material (flawlessly) without filler or other useless garbage. They played a variety of all their tunes and even played some new stuff that they are going to record this summer for release by the first part of 2013. Clutch are great performers and have seemingly limitless talent and are worth any metal fan’s hard earned cash to go see live and in person. These guys are among rock’s finest.
