There are those who credit Ice-T with pioneering the gangsta rap movement. Frankly, I don't know enough about that genre to comment either way on this part of its history.

When I reviewed their Smokeout performance DVD I remarked how it was the only video available from the group, and that was a shame. It wasn't that their performance was bad, but just that there were technical issues and a less than enthusiastic crowd to pull down the energy of the band.

I have to say upfront that I've always had a deep respect for Ice-T. The guy has a lot of talent and also seems to me to have a lot of integrity.
