Gorgoroth

Black Mass Krakow 2004 DVD

Review by Gary Hill

If you are a fan of intense extreme metal and haven’t heard this band I can’t think of a better introduction. These guys are brutal, but also technical and very tight. The show itself was intense in terms of stage props, pyrotechnics and other elements. The thing is this band’s sound is big enough to avoid being overshadowed by such theatrics – and that says a lot. These guys really rock. The video quality and sound quality here are both quite good. This is just a brutal concert film and the DVD includes some good bonuses, too. I’m not going to delve into those bonuses, though, because this film is strong enough to stand on its own. If you are fan of Gorgoroth it’s a safe bet you already have this anyway, but if you haven’t heard them and like extreme metal, then you are strongly advised to pick this up.
