The Who

The Who, The Mods and the Quadrophenia Connection DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This is one of those unauthorized biography type rock documentaries. As such, it’s better than many. With the title I had rather assumed that The Who would be only a small piece of the picture. Instead, we are given an introduction and overview of the Mod movement, but told through the concept of The Who and specifically the Quadrophenia album. Frankly, I find this fascinating. It’s a lot of stuff that I didn’t know about. However, I’m not a huge Who fan and I’ve never been fully immersed in the whole concept of the Mods before. I think it would be a pleasant experience for those who are hardcore Who fans, though. It certainly works for the rest of us.
