Leonard Cohen

Leonard Cohen’s Lonesome Heroes DVD

Review by Gary Hill

Fans of Leonard Cohen will certainly find this in-depth. Pretty much anyone will find it in-depth. The documentary explores Cohen’s music in the context of what influenced it and how it was reflected in his work. The end result is a DVD that’s quite informative and, just a little dry. Those with a less deeply rooted interest in Cohen’s artistry will probably want to shy away. This is just a little too much. However, those, with an interest in popular music history in general or Cohen’s music, will find this quite educational.
