America’s Music Legacy – Country and Western DVD

Review by Gary Hill

Don’t pop this in expecting some kind of documentary detailing the history of country and western music. That’s not what it is. It’s actually a concert that features multiple performers from the genre playing songs they made famous. It’s a two hour show and the closest it comes to documentary is a little bit of bio when they are introduced. The performances still hold up well, but some of the video and staging seems dated, almost to the point of embarrassment. Still, with performances by artists like Patti Page, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ricky Skaggs and more, you just can’t go wrong if you are a fan of country and western music.
