John Cale

Live at Rockpalast DVD

Review by Gary Hill

While this is billed as John Cale and Band, the first is a more stripped down performance. The second, though, finds Cale in full flight. These two performances are both from the Rockpalast television show and have been floating around in bootleg from for a long time. Either one on a DVD would be worth having, but both in one set is incredible. John Cale fans are well advised to pick this up. Those looking for an introduction to this vital artist would do well to get it, too.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2010  Volume 6 at lulu.com/strangesound.
