Hawkwind

Solstice at Stonehenge 20th Anniversary Edition DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This is a very good, but not great DVD. Honestly the performance and atmosphere are all excellent. It’s the video and audio quality that leave a bit to be desired. Still, the song list and the line up (with Nik Turner having returned to the Hawkwind family) make it well worth having. The group put in a killer performance with much of it done like some kind of hippie ritual. It all works quite well. The video is a bit dark and grainy, but it’s a sign of the times. The sound quality is actually not bad, but certainly not up to modern standards.
