Freedom Call

Live In Hellvetia DVD

Review by Gary Hill

If you are a fan of heavy metal and have yet to hear Freedom Call, I can’t recommend this set enough. The first DVD (there are two) includes a full concert showcasing this incredibly talented group. It’s well shot with both video and sound just about top-notch. A lot of times concert videos from lesser known metal bands seem like they are shot completely in the dark. That’s definitely not the case here as the stage is well lit throughout. The band put in a killer performance and it’s all captured in style. Disc two is a bonus one with some rehearsals, interviews and a shorter concert video. The whole package is a winner. It’s a great addition to any Freedom Call collection or would make an excellent introduction to the group.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2011  Volume 4 at lulu.com/strangesound.
