I guess a lot of how you’ll feel about this DVD is about what you think of the whole concept behind it, a sort of solidarity concert after the World Trade Center attacks. I mean, the cynic in me kind of thinks that McCartney and other acts might have used it as a publicity stunt. Truthfully, though, did McCartney really need that kind of publicity? When you are as big an artist as him, how much more attention do you need?

Either way, this documentary looks at the whole event and gives a reasonably in-depth look at it. Could it have been more detailed and involved? Sure. Is it good enough? Yes. The truth is, though, the hardcore McCartney fans are probably the ones who will appreciate it the most. For the rest of us, it’s not bad, but not essential.
