Cream
Classic Artists: Cream DVD
Review by Gary Hill
This is an exhaustive documentary. It really showcases a lot of cool things, from early footage, killer interviews and real insights. I’ve always thought Cream were one of the most influential bands of all time, so it’s important to have this release to understand a lot of what came after. I have to say that I never knew about the animosity and troubled relationship between Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce. It’s amazing that these guys ever made such great music together. Apparently, despite working together, some of those animosities are still around (or at least where when this was filmed). It seems a bit long to me, making it a little tedious at times, but otherwise is highly recommended.
