Pendragon

Out Of Order Comes Chaos DVD

Review by Larry Toering

Pendragon last toured in 2008, with songs from the Pure album to promote. This DVD contains material from that album and it swings a little more as this band lose zero steam as they go. This was filmed in Katowice, Poland, in one of the most photogenic little venues I've ever seen. It's always nice to see it on film, and it has just the right acoustics for these DVDs on Metal Mind Productions. This band is cosmic in every way... although considered neo-prog, essentially they are prog, and still some of the best there is around. They play with the subtlety of bands like Asia and UK, but with the power  and diversity of Yes, Dream Theater, ELP, Rush and even Led Zeppelin. They're one sight and sound to behold, and this product has a few nice bonus features top it off perfectly. They have done some amazing performances, some resulting in great filmed events like The Concerto. This all region DVD comes highly recommended for those knowing Pendragon or not. It has everything for the rock fan in general in their performance alone, with the incredible Nick Barrett and crew just displaying some of the highest and cleanest energy you'll ever witness, with the best seat in the house. They have a lot of songs over the years, and pack 16 of the best into one solid showing of nothing but the finest order from the depths of chaos. No disappointments are to be found throughout this entertaining disc. It leaves you wanting nothing but more. The interview, bonus footage, biography, discography, photo gallery and desktop imagas all round out a first class release.
