Alan Parsons

Eye 2 Eye: Live In Madrid DVD

Review by Larry Toering

Alan Parsons live is a rare treat, and this is only the second time he has recorded live for public release. The first time was also in Madrid back in 2005. This is a 2010 product that features the project without Eric Wolfson. His presence is definitely missed, but they still manage to pull off a fine set. It's just not the same vocal experience with a different front man. They've gone through some singing changes over the years, including a tour with Joe Lynn Turner on vocals, so it seems to be the revolving sector of the band. Aside from that all the great APP tracks are included, and they put on an amazing performance of them, no question about it. However, being Parsons in 2010 you'd think it would be recorded in at least 5.1 surround, let alone DTS, but this is a 2.0 recording. Still, it’s maximum quality for that, so it meets the situation half way. This is actually a must buy for the fans and a great introduction to the curious who want to see them for once, as they're not to be missed. From “I Robot” to “Games People Play,” this as good as there is to be found for a live APP video.
