Devo

The Complete Truth About De-evolution DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This DVD is a transfer from an old video disc release. As such it has many of the old video disc trappings – the little rainbow striped screens and odd lettering. While one might think those things are annoying, I find them charming and think they fit this project well. The disc includes almost every Devo video ever created and that by itself would make this worthwhile. However, there is more including all kinds of live footage (dating to their very first concert) and much more. I love this set and would highly recommend it to Devo fans, both casual and hardcore. After all, you might have the original video disc, but who has a video disc player these days?
