Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson Thick as a Brick Live in Iceland DVD

Review by Gary Hill

Let’s just say that those looking for a Jethro Tull concert specifically might be disappointed. This isn’t Tull. That said, it’s as close as you can get…and that’s pretty darned good. The audio and video are both very good, but perhaps not top notch. At times the audio seems to not be mixed the best, the guitar too low and the vocals too high, for instance. We get both Thick as A Brick albums performed. It’s great theatrical progressive rock and holds up very well. Additionally we get an interview with Anderson and some other cool clips. Throw out your preconceptions about this being Jethro Tull and get ready to be entertained. This is great stuff. The funny thing is, once you toss out the “Tull connection” in your mind, you’ll be shocked at how much it really does feel like that band.
