Randy Bachman

Vinyl Tap Tour: Every Song Tells a Story DVD

Review by Gary Hill

I have to say upfront that I’m a much bigger fan of The Guess Who than of Bachman Turner Overdrive. In fact, I’m not really a fan of that second group at all. So, I had mixed feelings about this set. Let me say that the Guess Who songs here stand up much better for me than the BTO stuff. Still, here’s the thing, while the music is good, that’s not the real magic here. Randy Bachman tells stories about most of the songs. The stories are fascinating and compelling. That really makes this magic. In fact, I’d recommend this set to anyone who has ever liked anything Bachman has ever done. You get an audio of the CD, too. All in all, this is great stuff. And remember, I’m not a big fan of BTO.
