The Story of the Hard Luck 5

Review by Gary Hill

I’ve never heard of these guys before. Their story is actually more common than one might think, though. I mean, we get an indie band that forms and creates music. They go through a series of gigs and recordings with success seeming to loom just around the corner, yet more often than not get snatched away at the last moment. This is the story of a band burning brightly and flashing out, but then getting brought back later in reunion. This is a universal rock and roll story in so many ways. Yet, it’s the individual story of these guys. I recommend it to anyone who wants a look at what the real world of rock bands is quite often. Sure, there are differences, but in so many ways, the story of this band fits many other groups.
