I’ve reviewed several in this series. I have to say, it’s amazing that so much screen time can be devoted to one artist’s career. That said, Dylan (with all his varied styles and the level with which he’s influenced other musicians) certainly would be more worthy than some others. I’m not sure how they decided in what order they were going to release this. This starts at the beginning really and covers his early years, right up to his “electric” period. All these documentaries suffer from the fact that (since they are unauthorized) they are short on close up interviews and don’t get to include music from the artist. Well, that’s except for some live footage taken from licensed live shows films. Still, this is a fascinating story told through clips, interviews with journalists and others from the folk scene and narration. It’s well worth the time and money.
