Rebel ACA & French Monkey Wrench

African James Bond (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

This is a brand new single from an act I've not heard before. Based on the strength of this, I'd love to hear more. This is such an unusual and cool cut. It's both modern and classic.

African James Bond
There is a real British vibe to the cut. It has hints of hip hop in the mix. Overall, this lands somewhere in the vein of an alternative rock sound turned pop. That's not really a very complete map, though. This has old school soul, dream pop and perhaps even some hints of modern progressive rock in it. It's eclectic and quirky, but also very catchy.
