Paul Maged The Glass River Review by Gary Hill This is the newest EP from Paul Maged, and it falls under the alternative rock category. Within that general label, despite the fact that there are only a few songs, there is quite a bit of sonic range. We get everything from punky sounds to near metal, melodic rock and more. Track by Track Review

Gunz 4 Hire Punk rock, alternative and metal all merge on the opener. There are some cool riffs on this thing. The chorus has an almost Clash vibe to it. This is a killer cut that's both meaty and catchy.

Corporate Hell (The Legend of Tooly McDouche) Keyboards start this. The cut shifts out into another high energy rocker. This gets a definite parental advisory. It's powered up, angry and quite punky.

Choices This is much more of a melodic rocker. There are hints of things like The Beatles. It's an accessible tune that's a lot of fun.

The Glass River (The Ballad of Alan & Jane) With a more rocking, alternative edge to much of the cut, there is a dropped back movement that's more melodic. This piece has some almost progressive rock styled changes. It's quite dynamic and potent. I like the little piano break.

For the Sea Starting with piano and voice, this is another that's quite proggy. It's an evocative tune that starts mellow and gradually builds outward. It gets into some more rocking stuff. It's an environmentalist tune in terms of the lyrical content.

Life Goes By prelude Another classy rocker, this is essentially alternative rock. It's bouncy and catchy and too short. Of course, that leaves the listener wanting more, and that's a good thing.
