Erich Mrak Drive (digital single) Review by Gary Hill This the second single to come as part of an EP from Erich Mrak. I reviewed the first one, "Navigate" in this issue, too. The plan is that there will be six singles released that together will make up the EP. I have to say that I prefer the other song to this one, but this does have its merits. Drive Musically this one is intriguing. It works in an electronic music vibe. There is a bit of a hip-hop edge to it. At times it powers up to almost progressive rock zones. The issue I have is the vocal performance. It's drastically over-produced and processed. I know that's a big deal in a lot of electronic music, but frankly, I think it's been overdone and we've reached the point where it's clichéd and silly. Then again, I didn't like to begin with, so take my opinion as biased in that regard. I would say that this is another quirky and unusual cut for sure.
