Uncle Roy and the Band from Another Planet

This set has a real DIY, indie sound. That could be seen as a weakness or a charm, depending on your particular tastes. Musically it has plenty of psychedelia along with prog and even some fusion in the mix. It does vary enough from track to track to keep it from feeling at all monolithic.

Cosmic Happiness
Psychedelia and space rock merge as this piece opens. I'm reminded of a mix of early David Bowie and Hawkwind. The vocals are sort of distant and understated. The overall mix feels very DIY. There is some fierce guitar work, and the cut works out to a faster paced jam that's really rocking. There are almost some hints of Cheap Trick in this section, but this is decidedly prog rock based.
The Isle of Riff on the World of Tone
Psychedelia and prog are both driving factors on this thing. It has a raw DIY edge to it. The vocals are more traditional in terms of the arrangement. This is high energy and very space rock oriented.
A World of Miracles
Echoey, mellower and less dynamic than the music that preceded it, there is a DIY sort of weirdness to this. It's perhaps more psychedelic than it is anything else. It's one that doesn't really grab me, but it does lend some variety to the set.
Father Time
Killer hard rocking guitar opens this with some real fury. The cut works out from there to sort of a psychedelia meets fusion movement for the entrance of the vocals. We get more hard rocking stuff as it continues with it really getting into space rock zones. As some edgy guitar takes over later it has a prog meets fusion approach. It works back out to psychedelia from there.
It Doesn't Really Matter
There is a punky, indie edge here. Merge that with some hard rocking guitar and definite psychedelia and you have the idea here. This has some definite changes and variety and works pretty well. It's one of the crunchiest and most straightforward things here.
