David Singley The Singles Review by Gary Hill This music on this EP is largely folk based, but it also has a leaning toward sort rock and on one song country. This sort of music often feels under-produced a little amateurish from others That's definitely not the case here. Not only is David Singley a great musician and singer, but he's given us a really professional sounding release. While this is not precisely my type of music, it's done so well and has so much magic in it, that it really is particularly effective. Change Gonna Come There is a dreamy quality to this tune. It has a nice energy. The arrangement is lush. It's a folk rocker with a lot of style.

Can't Find My Way Back Violin (or should I say "fiddle?") brings some down-home country angles to this. The guitar picking doesn't hurt, either. The tune is every bit as strong as the previous one. It just shows a different side to the folk music concepts here.

Love Will Take Its Time I like this balladic duet (between Singley and Mary Jane Alm) a lot. It has some hints of an almost echoey psychedelic dream quality. The back and forth of the vocals works well.

Go Back Home Piano gets things underway here. This is another ballad, but it's built around piano and organ, presenting a change. There is a real timeless quality to this. This is a classy way to end things.
