Howlin' Wolf Boy, You Got More Blues Here! Vol. 2 (10-inch vinyl EP) Review by Gary Hill This new 45-RPM vinyl record from Bear Family is great. It deals up several tracks from an important artist on one record. The gravely vocals have a certain authority to them. The music ranges from the nearly rock and roll to more traditional blues and even jazz-like zones at times. It includes a booklet and is a cool release. Side 1

Mr. Highway Man / Cadillac Daddy Tastefully raw, this has a lot of energy. It has some tasty piano and a great blues meets rock and roll groove. It's a particularly fun romp. I dig the guitar work.

Color And Kind A slower grind, this has some great dirty blues sound at play.

My Baby Walked Off This doesn't feel all that different from the previous tune. It's another solid slab of old-school blues.

Baby Ride With Me (Ridin’ In The Moonlight) I love the driving groove of this number. It's got some killer blowing harmonica, too. The guitar sound is great, and this is one of the standouts on this record.

Dorothy Mae #2 This has a solid flow to it. It's classic vintage blues music with jazz built into it.

Side 2

Smile At Me Jazz and rock and roll merge nicely as this gets underway. The guitar drives it while the piano dances over the top. The harmonica brings more pure blues, and this is just a fun tune that's among the best on this record.

Decoration Day Blues A slower, more traditional blues, this is a killer tune. It's so much fun. It's another standout.

California Blues Here we get another with a more blues oriented arrangement. Horn and piano bring some jazz to it.

Well That’s All Right I dig the guitar on this a lot. The whole tune has a great energy and vibe to it. It's more of a rock and roller.

CV Wine Blues / Drinkin’ C V Wine This vintage blues stomper features killer guitar jamming, wailing blues harp and angst ridden vocals.
