Swearingen and Kelli Build Myself Up From The Ground Review by Gary Hill I've reviewed this act previously. They are duo made up of a husband and wife. Their music is decidedly country leaning, but it's also based on other sounds, too. This disc, in particular feels more folk like. Everything here works really well, and I love their vocal harmonies so much. It's another particularly effective release from them. Track by Track Review

The River A slow moving number, this features great acoustic slide guitar. It also has some exceptional vocal harmonies. It's a great tune.

Angel of the Dark This is still acoustic based. It has more of a driving energy and an intensity to it. It's another potent song.

Build Myself Up From The Ground This comes in without a duet, focusing instead on Jayne Kelli's vocals without accompaniment. There is also more pure country here than on the previous two tunes. While Swearingen's voice is eventually heard on the track, he's featured less prominently on this one.

Loving Her Was Easier (Than Anything I'll Ever Do Again) Another that's on the balladic side, Swearingen's vocals are more prominent here, but he doesn't dominate the track as much as Kelli did on the last one.

Goodbye Piano starts this number, and they bring it in with a balladic approach. This is another that's mostly Kelli's vocals. It's a pretty song that just has some minor augmentation beyond the piano for musical arrangement.

This Old House Poignant folk and country merge on this number. It's more of a true duet. It's slower and balladic. It's also very strong and evocative.
