Chain Reaction Still in the Game Review by Gary Hill I have reviewed a couple of other discs from this act. I’ve mentioned on both of those that the production leaves something to be desired. That’s true here, though. It just doesn’t feel like it’s mixed or recorded all that well. I mean, it’s not bad, but it’s very indie, basement studio sounding. The mix of hard rocking sounds here works well in general, but there is one song that has some really rough edges to it. Still, overall, this is an effective EP.

Playmaker
This is a killer hard rocking tune. It has some hints of metal and also some leanings toward space rock.
Still in the Game
More of a blues rock angle is at play here. This is another solid tune. It’s more rudimentary than the opener was.
In Our Own Image
This one seems to work better than the two previous cuts. It’s perhaps a little more metallic.
American Son
A more melodic tune, this one doesn’t work as well. It feels awkward in some ways.
Rumors of War
We’re back to more driving rock sound. This works better than the last track did. I really love the guitar solo on the tune.
