The music on this new album is really hard to pin down. It ranges from rock to adult contemporary and more. At times it leans toward art music. At other times it gets jazzy. It’s always compelling, though. This is quite an effective release from start to finish.

Track by Track Review
Soul Dance
With folk music in the mix, the symphonic strings and overall arrangement bring this closer to progressive rock. I’m reminded of Kate Bush in some ways on this. This gets powerful and evocative.
Courage to Live
This is more straight-ahead pop rock. While it’s still strong, it’s a step down from the last tune. That’s more about the strength of that one than any weakness here. This does soar later and stretch toward AOR prog at times.
This is the Way
Now, this is full-on pop rock based. It has some solid hooks and works well. It definitely holds its own here.
Time to Shine
Starting with a piano and vocal arrangement, this builds out later on that vibe. It feels more along the lines of adult contemporary music to me.
Treasures of the Heart
This lands in that same musical zone. It’s a bit less balladic, but it definitely isn’t a rocker. It has some hints of jazz in the mix at times, but more like smooth jazz. There are some hints of prog, too.
Home (Solo Acoustic Guitar)
This cut has a lot of charm and style built into it. As you might imagine, it’s mellow, and also quite pretty.
Holding On
Another that lands along the lines of pop music meets adult contemporary, this is solid, but not any kind of standout. I do like the use of classical strings on it.
Coming Home
Perhaps this wanders a little further toward rock music, but the whole adult contemporary or singer songwriter vibe drives this.
Part of the Solution
This rocking tune is solid. It’s definitely a rock song. It’s rather generic, but it is done well enough to elevate it. The magical bridge brings some class as does the proggy instrumental break.
Safe Room Percussion starts things here. The track works out from there to a jazzy sort of pop rocker.
