The mighty Megadeth took stage at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater and took the crowd by storm. Energy and metal ruled the air while such tunes as “Peace Sells,” and “Skin O' My Teeth” blasted out with authority and perfection. I have never seen Megadeth miss a beat while playing live, and this night was no different.
They played some of their new material from the upcoming Th1rt3en CD. One of those cuts,“Public Enemy #1” sounded really good live. I was impressed by the overall choreography of this live show. The band’s enthusiasm showed through and through. I would say they bordered on being complete hams...but you could also say they genuinely appreciated being able to play for their fans. There certainly were a lot of true fans there that evening. The crowd had no problem singing along with every song...even the new stuff.

As we predicted, they came out for a final encore and played the almighty, “Holy Wars.” I can truly say it sounded just like when they first did the Rust In Peace tour back many years ago. The whole band are truly keeping the Megadeth sound alive. I would go see them live any time they come around this area.
