Rush

Wandering The Face Of The World – The Official Touring History 1968-2015

Review by Greg Olma

The death of Neil Peart unfortunately put an end to Rush ever touring again.  Like Led Zeppelin, you can't just replace an integral member easily, nor should the band even try.  Since we know Rush will no longer be touring, this is the complete list and will remain the complete list until he end of time.  Anyone who purchased the Kiss Alive Forever book can attest that it is great to have a complete list of shows and any and all bits of information and detail about that concert.  The authors also make the book visually appealing by including pictures that were previously unpublished.  Make no mistake, this a heavy coffee table book that contains approximately 470 pages.  The best part of this book is that every fact that could be included is here, from date to city and venue down to opening acts and capacity.  When available, there is a photo of the newspaper clipping promoting the show, recollections from promoters, photographers, and newspaper stories.  The whole affair was painstakingly compiled and presented in this book that will have you going to look up dates and shows time and time again.  Aside from being a great book on these prog metal giants, it is essentially an encyclopedia of their touring history.  Quite frankly, this is a “one stop shop” for all information needed on any Rush show.  I have had this book for a couple of years and I go through the pages on a monthly basis if not more often.  I can’t recommend this book enough to any Rush fan and I suggest you find a copy as I’m sure eventually this will be hard to find.
