Heartracer (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

As someone who is a big progressive rock fan, it might seem odd to some that I like pop music. The thing is, just because you can appreciate complex, bigger than life music, it doesn’t mean you can’t also enjoy a song that has the sole purpose of entertaining. Fun music is fun music. This is definitely that.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2014  Volume 6 at lulu.com/strangesound.

Track by Track Review
Heartracer

This powers out right from the start. It’s high energy electronic pop music. The vocal arrangement has multiple layers and great hooks. The whole tune is just very accessible and very compelling. It’s hard not to like this, really.

(Editor's Note - Music Street Journal is set up for the allocation of albums, not singles - particularly not one-song singles. So, in the instances, like this one, where we've covered single song releases, we've had to make some adaptations for formatting. In the case of this one, just imagine both track review and overall review reading as one set of copy. )
