The Left Ready

Ghost

Review by Gary Hill

I like the variety here. Overall, this lands mostly in the territory of hard rock, but it really manages to change things up within that genre. This is a solid ride start to finish.

Track by Track Review
In Like a Lion

This starts ambient and trippy but quickly launches out into hard rocking high energy alternative rock. It’s catchy and very effective.

I Am a Ghost
Even harder edged than the previous number, this really scorches. It’s just as catchy, though. It’s got a real classic sound to it in a lot of ways. Yet, it’s also modern rock for sure.
Will To Survive
Although the general musical concept remains the same, this smoking hot rocker is still unique. It’s actually one of the best grooves here.
Hell in a Handbasket
A slower, rather bluesy jam, this has some leanings toward metal. It’s a killer tune. What it loses in speed, it more than makes up for with cool. It has moments that make me think of stoner rock.
Out Like a Lamb
The bulk of this is mellower and more melodic. That said, they power it up in time to end the disc with energy. This is more modern pop rock start to finish, but it’s also very strong. It’s a great closer.
