Kachinga

Balance (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

This is the first of two singles I've reviewed for this issue from this artist. Kachinga hails from Ontario, Canada and is a hip hop artist. This track differs from the other one in that it does not earn a parental advisory for the lyrics.

This review is available in book (paperback and hardcover) form in Music Street Journal: 2018  Volume 3. More information and purchase links can be found at: garyhillauthor.com/Music-Street-Journal-2018.

Balance
A soulful groove leads this out of the gate. It drops to a stripped back rhythm section sound for the first raps. The tune gets a return to the more developed arrangement after a time. It alternates between these two contrasting sections as it works forward.
