Bushwick Blooze Band

Lonely and Blue (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

This is the new single from the Brooklyn blues band that goes under the name "Bushwick Blooze Band." It's an effective and potent tune. While it's not Earth shattering in terms of originality, it's a powerful number rooted in the traditional sound. It's also just plain strong.

This review is available in book (paperback and hardcover) form in Music Street Journal: 2020  Volume 5. More information and purchase links can be found at: garyhillauthor.com/Music-Street-Journal-2020.

Track by Track Review
Lonely and Blue
A killer electric blues guitar brings this thing into being. The other instruments join in the slow march that is the song. The guitar purely wails with intensity and style. The blues vocals join around are the one-minute mark as the cut drops back a bit. This is a classy blues number that's just packed with emotion and power. There is more guitar soloing mid-track, and overall this is a powerhouse electric blues tune.
