Redfearn

Review by Gary Hill

If you like your rock with a lot of country music in the mix, this might be just the musical entre for you. There is plenty of variation from song to song here, but there is also a real consistency. Perhaps the most effective aspect of this is the fact that it feels very genuine.

Track by Track Review
Jesus Is On My Side

There is a classy southern rock vibe to this number as the electric guitar brings it in. The piano lends some magic to the arrangement, and the whole tune grooves with some country music angles in the mix. This has some seriously catchy hooks. The slide guitar really brings so much magic to this thing.

Put Me In My Right Mind
There is some funk built into this. I'm reminded of Little Feat to some degree. The vocals bring more pure country music angles, though.
Had To Let It Go
This isn't as direct rocking as the first two. It's more of a soft rock cut with a lot of country music built into it.
Redfearn
Here we get a more pure country music groove. Slide guitar brings some magic. The harmonica solo is a nice touch, too. There are definitely some rocking edges here.
Goodbye Blues
This feels more like a soft rock ballad. This is very country music based. It's an intriguing piece of music. It also brings some variety to the table.
Howl With Me Baby
There is some killer instrumental work on this thing. It's a smoking hot blues rocker with plenty of country music in the mix. Again harmonica brings a special aspect to it.
