Annie Haslam

‘Live’ Studio Concert DVD: Philadelphia, PA, USA, 1997

Review by Gary Hill

I have been a big fan of Annie Haslam for a long time. She has an incredible voice. This live show really manages to capture that. Of course, it’s not just about her voice, but about some incredible pieces of music, too. A lot of singers find their voice loses something as they get older. That doesn’t seem to be the case with Haslam. I suppose if there is a problem with this set, it would be the brevity. The show is only 45 minutes long. It features nine songs, six from her solo career and three from Renaissance. The thing is, I can’t recommend this enough, despite that brevity. This is great stuff start to finish, and both the video and audio quality are great, too.
