Paco and John

Live at Montreux 1987 DVD

Review by Gary Hill

The “Paco” here is Paco de Lucia. The “John” is John McLaughlin. These two guys gave some amazing performances here. of course, given their skill levels, you wouldn't expect anything less. Although the majority of this features both of them playing together, they each get showcased solo, too. The DVD isn’t perfect, but it’s still solid. The audio is great. I always love sets where they include audio CDs of the whole DVD. The CDs make this worth having anyway. This is roughly an hour and a half of exceptional guitar work. I recommend it to anyone who loves great guitar playing.
