Little Feat
Highwire Act - Live In St. Louis 2003 Blu-Ray/Double CD Set
Review by Gary Hill
There are Little Feat fans who feel that the band ceased to be Little Feat once Lowell George was gone. This video/CD is not for them. They are really missing out, though. Little Feat's performance shows that they were every bit the vital band one would hope for at that time. Their music spans such a wide vista of music, with traditional American styles blending with jazz, rock music and more.
This set includes both the Blu-ray disc and a double CD set of the concert. The show ran for over two hours, meaning there is a lot of great music here. The video and audio are both top-notch, and the musicians were all really giving it everything they had. In addition to the concert, the Blu-Ray includes a cool behind scenes documentary. All in all, this is a great set from a very important and entertaining band. If you only know the hits, you'll get those. This goes much deeper than that, though, and as such is very rewarding.
